You! Yes you! Welcome to the April A to Z Blogging Challnege! CHALLENGE is in the title for a reason. You have taken it on, and that is amazing! Whether you see it through or not, whether you are preparing or pantsing, whether you are a first-time blogger or a returning participant - you are doing great! 

Just joining A to Z is a great step. You might not finish this year. You might come back next year anyway. That is okay. We are all here, CHEERING you on!

Are you setting an extra challenge for yourself this year? 

A THEME can be an added challenge! A lot of people do it. It makes selecting each letter a bit more tricky, but it also gives your readers something to come back for.

PANTSING can be a challenge too. It makes you write regularly every day - write fast and with enthusiasm. Good job!

PLANNING is also a challenge, because it takes foresight and preparation. Well done!

You may also challenge yourself to VISIT others during the month of April, reading their posts and cheering them on. That also takes time and effort, and we are very grateful if you do it!

      Here we are again for the Big Blog Bash of the year:   The Blogging from A to Z April Challenge.  Kicking things off is the easy part.   Keeping it going for the whole month is the Challenge.  If you've done it before then you know what I'm saying, if you're doing your first A to Z then you probably still know what I'm saying or at least get an inkling.

       The bottom line is that this can be a big deal or a big bust but either way have fun.  I don't advise anyone getting stressed unless stress is the big motivator in your life. Completing a blog challenge is like good driving.  Take it nice and easy, watch where you're going, and avoid using your brakes unless it's necessary. I don't know if that metaphor works for you, but I like it.

     No matter how you approach it, Blogging from A to Z is a breeze for many of us.  And if it's not then no big deal.  We're here to have a good time.  Hope you do!

That’s how easy blogging should be.

Okay, so I totally messed up the song [which you can watch here or listen to the original here or the Glee version here] and you’re going to have an earworm for the rest of the day, but it’s true: blogging shouldn’t be hard; it should be easy.

Writing about what interests you should be fun, it should be easy to deal with and shouldn’t make you want to sit on your shower floor fully dresses, rocking back-and-forth, crying while the water beats down on you.

Personally, I blog about what interests me (mainly folklore). Is it as easy as sitting down and tapping away at the keyboard? No. My posts take hours of research and reading and going down fascinating rabbit holes to create – but I enjoy every moment of it. Just finding the right music video to link to for this post was educational – and fun!

And that’s the key to sustainable blogging: love for what you do.

The ONLY way to officially sign-up for the 2024 April Blogging from A to Z Challenge is by filling out that form before April 7, 2024.
That's it. There is no other website or other blog hop page used. Sign up by filling out that Google form.
(The theme reveal was a seperate blog hop, a sort of teaser trailer to get readers excited about some of the partcipants. But to sign up for the actual challenge, a blogger must fill out the above form.)

Your blog name is what you call your blog.
The author's name is who writes the blog. This is probably your name- the name you want readers to call you when commenting.
Your blog link should take readers directly to your blog. Please check it. Have a friend check it.
***This is a blog hop! We ask that anyone who signs up has a blog where any and all participants can comment (without logging in, signing up, emailing, etc).
If your blog cannot offer that, this hop might not be for you.

Another way the #AtoZChallenge helps to drive traffic to your blog is by asking your theme category. A theme is not required. There are options if you have no theme. Knowing the main topics likely to be covered by your blog in April intrigue readers and increase the odds readers will visit your blog. Here's what the options look like.


The point of the #AtoZChallenge is both to test yourself to create an (English 26-letter) alphabet worth of posts using and inspired by the letter of the day on Mondays thru Saturdays in April, as well as to "hop" to as many other blogs in the challenge and leave comments on the A to Z posts found there. This grows our blogging community and creates connections.
That is why the Master List has a space for comments. So, when you take a copy of the master list for yourself, you can track which blogs you've left comments on.
The A to Z Challenge was created in the United States, and the website is based there, where the legal age of adulthood and consent is 18. Thus, if your blog has adult content, we must ask that you note it. This helps protect the community, as this is an all-ages event. Please help us keep the blog hop safe and legal.
Some bloggers are writers and will present a story that is meant to be read in order. If this applies to your plans, please indicate as such on the form so readers know where to start.
Think about your hop plans. Visiting others is half the challenge!
It's 2024. We ask your pronouns so as to not misidentify anyone. We wish to show respect to participants. No one should suffer from bias, discrimination or hate.
We ask the first year of participation in the challenge. Some bloggers may have missed a few years. But many of us celebrate the time when we first found this challenge.
There are spaces for social media, if you'd like to share yours.
Some people (mostly Wordpress users) have a problem where they feel their comments post with a name other than the one they'd like, or one on the Master List. Making it more difficult for bloggers in the challenge to comment back.
The #AtoZChallenge is an International event. It's great to know how many countries we've reached!
And finally, we inite you to give a brief summary of your theme for April, if you have one.

Thirty-seconds to three hours (usually seconds, but we don't run Google!) after submitting the form, you should check the master list to be sure your blog is on it. Contact the team if there is a problem. Jayden will be watching and deleting duplicates and any fake entries.

Theme Reveal #AtoZchallenge 2024 #bloghop

This is an optional BONUS blog hop.

The theme reveal is an optional, time-honored tradition in the A to Z Challenge community. It is an optional extra blog hop that takes place in March. It's a chance to entice readers to your blog and get them excited about what you'll do in April. 

Signing up for the theme reveal does not sign you up for the main April Blogging from A to Z Challenge-- that form will be available from March 25 until April 7.

The theme reveal is a great place to ask people for thoughts on what posts they'd like to see from you in April. (Instead of hoping for votes on what to post next, an option no longer in the master list sign up.) Some bloggers enjoy mentioning where they're from, why they blog, how often they've participated in the Challenge, and if they tend to comment back or only visit their current fans. Themes are NOT required for the April Challenge, but many participants find connecting the monthly posts via a theme helps them complete the challenge and draw a larger audience.

Fall in Love with Blogs and Blog Hops Again!

February is often thought of as the month of love. Here at the A to Z Blog Challenge, we're falling in love with Blogs and Blog Hops again! With my own blog, I have found my attention to it waxes and wanes throughout the year. I try so hard to keep updating it consistently, and I have definitely found that my best success has been through the community of bloggers (and the support of my husband and co-blogger!) and I am very much looking forward to my next round of A to Z Challenge posts to keep my momentum going!
