T is for Takeaways #atozchallenge

T is for Takeaways

As we start to wind down (only six more posts to go!), what Takeaways do you have from this year’s A to Z? Have you challenged yourself in new and interesting ways? Have you done anything you’re particularly proud of? Share with us in the comments what your Takeaways are so far!

Then get ready to share your Reflections in a couple of weeks. Our Reflections officially open on May 3rd, and brainstorming your Takeaways is a good starting point for that. If nothing comes to mind, look back to our bonus challenges and see if you can squeeze one in this final week.

My personal takeaways so far:

- Blogging is so much easier and so much more fun when you share the load. Bringing on a co-blogger in January has been the best decision I ever made, writing-wise.

- A to Z is a lot more fun the years I had pre-scheduled all my posts. I feel like it’s been a struggle to go out looking for new blogs, but I did manage to do that some this month. I’m very much looking forward to May and the Road Trip (which officially opens on May 10th). If you aren’t familiar, the Road Trip is when you post the link to ONE of your A to Z posts that you want people to go back and read. It’s a lot of fun, even if we are going back and reading something from a month prior.

- I need a challenge to achieve my goals. Just having a vague goal isn’t enough of a motivator. During a sprint, I can write so much more than just setting a timer for myself.

- I am a social creature. I am desperate to be back into normal socializing patterns. It’s coming! Sooon!

Okay, so I knew some of these things about myself before, but I bet you didn’t!
Now it’s your turn. Share with us your Takeaways so far!

  3. I had most of my posts scheduled at the beginning of the month. It has given me time to discover more participating blogs. There are some very good ones! https://suestrifles.wordpress.com/2021/04/23/trust-atozchallenge/

  4. This year, I upped my challenge by researching a topic I care about. It has been and is time-consuming and stressful at times. But I'm happy with the results.

  5. This year I didn't scheduled all my post in advance, and it's a bit complicated to handle the challenge plus visiting blogs. My comments are often short but I read the entire post ;))

  6. As the world have been going through uncertain times, I chose where I've travelled in the past. It helped me with the present.

  7. This year, I am trying something totally new to me, which seemed impossible a few months ago. I have scheduled all of my A-to-Z posts, and I already feel a sense of accomplishment.

  8. My takeaway this year: It's easier to write with a theme.
It felt like a reunion of sorts -- meeting bloggers I had met last year and then lost touch.

  9. I have eaten lots of takeaways - no time to cook in April ! (Joking). But truly I don't have time today to write about my real takeaways but I will be thinking about them...

  10. TGIF ... I have never done the road trip before so I think it will be a fun new challenge this year and hopefully will get to visit some more people who I've yet to visit. This year's theme has actually made me learn a lot about myself. Hop on over to see what my thanksgiving is all about.

    Have a great day!
    Cheers,

  11. If you ever visit the City of Guilds, be sure to take away something with you:

  12. My takeaway this year is that visiting/commenting requires a good amount of A to Z time — so prewriting posts helps allow for that time. Here’s my T post about Talking on the Busy Signal. Ever done this? Please stop by and let me know! https://mollyscanopy.com/2021/04/talking-on-the-busy-signal-atozchallenge/

  13. My takeaway is that the daily deadline is a great way to get new work done. And my mission to become better acquainted with my Art blog interface has been achieved.

  15. I have been blogging for 15 years or more and never realized that my profile is not visible to visitors to my blog. Tamara not only pointed it out but also helped me rectify it. Meeting amazing bloggers and reading blogs once again has been great experience. Thanks for this wonderful #AtoZChallenge..
Since I chose the theme about things that helped me survive cancer for 25 years, it is good reminder to hold on them. https://www.chaptersfrommylife.com/2021/04/thoughts-tune-them-to-triumph.html

  16. Jayden,

I was off my mark this year with the challenge but despite not having my artwork and posts completed before the first of the month, I'm managing to stay ahead of the game in this regard but I'm not doing well with responses on my site or return visits. That is the result of deciding at the last minute to do A-Z and not being prepared but I will get around to making things right in May. I hope everyone forgives me. Happy A2Zing, folks!

  19. My takeaway is discouraging because it's the same takeaway I have every year and yet still haven't mastered it -- having the posts ready and scheduled before April 1. Maybe next year???

I forgot to link up earlier today, but here's my T post:

  20. I always enjoy the challenge more when I have my blog posts queued up. I love having more time to visit all the other blogs. Weekends In Maine

  21. My main takeaway? To have posts complete, not just half-ready before April starts. There are so many things that can get in the way of getting a post ready before it should be up, it's better to not have that kind of stress.

  22. My takeaway is that I know I can catch up if I try hard enough.. where there is a will, there is a way after all..
And I caught up to V (which is good enough for me; as on the 27th PST, I will have my w post on track..)
