We're celebrating our Tenth Anniversary here at the April Blogging from A to Z Challenge.
#AtoZchallenge: The blog hop that made an online community by asking bloggers to spend the month of April using the English alphabet as inspiration for their posts. We're glad you stopped by today.
Crazy! That's what you have to be to participate in the A to Z Challenge!
How many of you heard that from your blog buddies when you announced on your blog that you were even thinking about attempting to write every day in April (except Sunday, of course), starting with the letter A on April 1 and ending with the letter Z on the 30th? How many of you heard this from your real-life friends, even your significant other?
How do you respond to such aspersions being cast upon you?
I'm willing to bet that, for most of you, this isn't your first go-around with the Challenge. You've had to deal with these questions about your sanity before. You've dealt with them, and you come back year after year to participate with us again.
Whether you're doing this for the first time or the tenth, Arlee, J, Jayden, Csenge and I are happy you're here. More importantly, everyone else participating is happy you're here. We're going to do a lot of writing over the remainder of the month, and we're going to read a lot, too. That's the best way to encourage other bloggers, to read what they've written, even if it's something you generally don't read, and to leave them a comment, even if it's just, "Hi, I see you're doing the A to Z Challenge too!" or "Just stopping by from the A to Z Challenge. Happy blogging!"
And as for those people who think you're nuts for doing this, ignore them. Do your own thing and show them why you did it. By the end of this month, you'll have written 26 posts and read at least five times that many more, and by doing it you'll be a better blogger. It was the A to Z Challenge that was my "baptism by fire" into the blogging world eight years ago, and what I learned is that yes, I can blog every day. Yes, I can make friends doing this. And yes, it is a lot of fun.

Thank you so much for being here these 10 years. I've enjoyed the challenge and I hope to engage more with others which is the difficult part really. I'm lazy like that.
ReplyDeleteCrazy is super good. Thank you all for what you do.

John,
ReplyDeleteThe good thing is I don't need anyone to tell me I'm nuts, I know this first hand and accept who I am with a smile. I have my game face on and clambering through the daily challenge with a collective calm. :)
Hop by when you get a chance for my Little Mermaid art sketch series feature Carlotta!
We continue celebrating the 10th anniversary of my debut novel, "In The Eye of The Beholder."

Loving doing the A to Z again! I don't know what you could do to help, but when I want to go visit someone's blog after they've commenting on mine, so many of them have no way for me to find their blogs! Grrrr. I know you posted about this before April, but seems a lot of folks didn't read that part.
ReplyDeleteIf they're on Google, many don't have a way to read their profile, or a link to their own blog/site! This is so frustrating and makes me feel bad because I want to visit them, and trying to find them on the list of over 600 bloggers is daunting! Sorry to complain, just sorry I'm missing these folks!
Third post of the challenge is up. On theme of Hindi Films / Bollywood Films Cliches, today I talk about C for Courtroom Dramas. Lets see if you identify with them. Read C is for Courtrooms in Hindi Films
ReplyDeleteYes, maybe a little crazy ;)) But it's fun!

It is important to be crazy. I never thought would participate in this huge challenge. I'm so happy to take this challenge and write a post every single day. I have not prepared anything in advance and prefer to do it every day :)

ReplyDeletemine is up happy blogging
I did my first A to Z in 2012 and I still enjoy it. I always choose some sort of quirky theme that most folk just find odd. I have also been known to do more than one A to Z in a year just for the hell of it, but I am older and wiser these days and due to life and stuff sadly post much less than I used to.
ReplyDeleteThe call of the A to Z though is a strong thing indeed and I guess there are a few more in me yet before I finally hang my old trusty qwerty keyboard up on whatever folk hang old keyboards up on.
Enjoy the ride and I'll see you all at Z

Craziness is inspiration in disguise. Only when a person is crazy about achieving something will he try his best and find a way to reach it. A2Z challenge is such a wonderful platform for all writers/bloggers. If it is easier to term it as crazy then a pinch of craziness brings in the spice of blogging!
ReplyDeleteMy post on today's letter C is https://anjus.home.blog/2019/04/03/crimson-promise/
Is it crazy that I look forward to A to Z? It gets me out and visiting blogs, which is so much fun, I don't know why I don't do it more.
ReplyDeleteI think it also helped get me in the habit of blogging 5 days a week...it's a break after the challenge!

ReplyDeleteFirst year attempting this. Excited to see this though.
ReplyDeleteCrazy is as crazy does. And I keep getting to May and saying to myself. "You're crazy if you do A to Z next year". And guess what?

I thought I was nuts when I started this a few days ago. .. I still do, now that I'm stumped for D. I think my head got the better of me and now I'm scrambling. I guess it's my own fault since I tend to write by the seat of my pants. .And on my phone.. So. Yes. . Crazy.

I haven't mentioned this to anyone since it's my first time participating. But every April and October I also do a 24 Hour Readathon (it's in two days!!!) and people think I'm pretty crazy for that! They're all use to it by now, but still poke fun at me when it's Readathon time!
ReplyDeleteC is for Coco!
C is for California Adventure!
Yep crazy is definitely the word!
ReplyDeleteMy post for "C" is below.

Last year I was crazy because I participated with TWO different blogs. This year I'm crazy because I knew I was committed and unavailable full-time until the middle of April. But jump in I did!!
