Reflections #AtoZChallenge

2018 A to Z Challenge Reflections

Congratulations!
Whether you completed all 26 posts or whether you only completed 1, that's still a step in the right direction. We now invite you to take some time and reflect on how things went this time. What went well? What could have gone better? (Tip: If you haven't filled out our survey yet, you should! It often sparks ideas on what you might want to include in your reflection post.)

We ask that everyone includes the link to their Reflections post on the list so that we know how many people finished the Challenge!

Now before you think we're done for the year, hold onto your hats! The Road Trip is coming in about two weeks, so start thinking about which post is your favorite to share. I know I personally saw lots of blogs where people were barely holding on, and I know that I didn't go look at as many blogs as I wanted to. So take some time in May and June, and beyond to visit blogs you didn't have a chance to visit before. And don't forget to let people know how you found them!

Happy blogging!

  1. Is there a list of questions to answer for the Reflections post?

    1. There are no specific questions. We just want to know your thoughts and experiences about this year and any suggestions to make things better for next year. Your post should be more about what you want to tell us and not anything specific that we want to know.

    3. Hopefully we'll have an official survivor badge soon--next day or so. I've put in a request for one.

  6. Many, many thanks to the cohosts who muscle through April every year to make this blog hop possible! I loved it this year, and think the daily list link was brilliant. If you ran the challenge exactly this way next year without any changes, I'd be totally satisfied. That said, I love some of the suggestions I've seen floating around

Suggestions for next year (none of which I thought of first):
    1. add a slot to the daily link list forms for the word, phrase, or title that goes with the letter of the day.
    2. Leave the lists open longer than 48 hours.
    3. Point me in the direction of that Survival badge! :)

  7. When you click on the links on the Master or Reflection lists is it supposed to take you to that blog? If so, I've never been able to make that work.

    1. Calensariel, when you click the link on the master list then another box with the link opens directly above it and clicking that link will take you to the blog post.

  8. Jayden,

You and the other hosts did fine job another year at pulling this shindig off. My thanks to each for making this one coolest and funnest annual event that I participate in every year. Okay, it's the only one I do yearly but it still doesn't change what I said. :D I usually fail when it comes to the Road Trip but I hope to change that this time around. We'll see...don't go holding your breathe, though. ;) Have a good week and congratulations to everyone on a job well done!!

  9. Just wanted to make sure someone saw this comment from my reflections post as I have run into a second person who had the same problem and didn't know she was supposed to be getting daily emails...

"...my only suggestion would be that when we sign up for the Master List you somehow send an email verifying that we are actually getting your daily mails. I bring this up because my friend Fim did the entire challenge, and though she was on the Master List, she never got the daily mails and only a couple people who saw her comments on my post visited her the whole time. That seemed odd when she brought it up the last couple days. We finally figured out she wasn’t getting the emails to fill out the form for the day’s post. That is my one and only suggestion."

    1. Calensariel. I don't know anything about daily emails. In fact you lost me on this situation that you've described. Hopefully another Team member can step in and help clarify.

    2. It was the email we got every day with the next letter in it. There was a link to click to take you to the Google form to enter your day's post. These guys weren't getting those emails so they didn't know they had to fill out the form every day to get on the day's list.

  10. My reflections post was incidentally my 100th blog post, so it is not just a reflection on the challenge but on milestones as well. Read Milestones

All the lists & links worked great for me. The tutorial in the beginning got me on the right track.
