X is for ???
It's an incredibly difficult letter to come up with a post for, isn't it? Ironically, I used Xerox (adult content), which I now see the top result when googling "words that start with x."
Then there are all the words that start with "ex," which aren't actually x words, but are close.
Hopefully you have all found good X words for 2018!
What are your favorite X words we should keep in mind for next year?

ReplyDeleteThank you for the 'x' words Jayden and I like your quote about excellence and perfection.

In past years I did posts like "X Marks the Spot" or "X's Guide to the Paranormal" so this year I actually decided on an actual X word. I decided to go to the bottom of the bucket for my x word and I picked Xenopus which is a genus of aquatic frogs in Africa. The story I wrote is only about frogs on the surface, I guess? This might be the weirdest thing I've written this month. Wolf of Words
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! :)

I had loads of difficulty with X this year so I went with the "ex" version. Last year I used Xanthophobia, Xenoepist, and Xyzlacatosis. I put them here in case anyone wants them for next year.

ReplyDeleteI recall an old Twitter chat where someone said they used the Roman Numeral X, meaning 10. I thought that was a brilliant.
ReplyDeleteSuch a brilliant idea! I have seen two so far today:

X is always a challenge! This year I went with "X Factor" to describe that je ne sais quoi when looking for love. There is also the "Ex Factor," which describes the feeling of just being totally DONE with a relationship, too! ;D

X can be tough, although I've found it depends on themes. Last year, I did an Alternative History so had Xochimilco (a place in Mexico). 2016 was a major challenge with a 3 part theme: short story starting with Xenagogue [guide]; racehorse - Xanadu; poisons - xylitol. In 2014, I used 'xerarch'.
ReplyDeleteBut, I have resorted to the X-mark - in 2015 for my War of 1812 posts, covering a period when illiteracy meant X was used as a signature.
And this year I've blogged on Video Game origins...so, X is for...X-Men https://rolandclarke.com/2018/04/27/x-is-for-x-men/
You came up with lots of words that start with "X". Hard letter.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. :)
