Happy 'Q' Day!
QWERTY: is the most common modern-day keyboard layout for Latin script. The name comes from reading the first six keys appearing on the top left letter row of the keyboard (Q, W, E, R, T, and Y) from left to right.
Getting tired of looking at your QWERTY keyboard yet?
Well...tough noogies!
We are not done yet!
Q is only the 17th letter in the alphabet!
You know what's up next? All the hard letters!
Yeah, you know it and I know it!
U, V, W, X, Y & Z!
[add movie scream here]
These letters are going to require lots of finesse and skill, two things I sorely lack, so instead, I'll have to wing it!
Hey, look! Wing it! That's a W word!
Know what? We can't lose!
Can we do it? Yes, we can!
Wait! That's a Y word!

Special Blogfest Announcement
Blood, Boobs, and Carnage
Blogfest!
Alex used that phrase last year to describe an upcoming movie release. It amused
many people, including ME. (Okay, mostly me) So, naturally we decided to make it a blogfest.
What
falls into that category? Here’s a few examples – Conan the Barbarian, Breaking
Bad, Fast and Furious, The Watchmen, etc.
Here’s
the details, short and simple:
On
May 18, 2015, post about a movie, television show, book, or all three that
falls into the category of Blood, Boobs, and Carnage. (Or just Blood and
Carnage or other mixture.) It can be any genre that fits the bill – fantasy,
science fiction, action, adventure, western, thriller, etc. Post the badge and
visit other participants.

Having a good laugh here thank you! Qwerty indeed! How about X-ray Bill Nicholls in UK? Xylitol? xenophobia? Thanks Jeremy for some words too ...
ReplyDeleteHe may have been looking for an actual place with an X.
DeleteNot sure.
Good suggestions though.

I have topics for those letters, damn good ones too. Unfortunately, I'm running out of steam and words no come out good now. Thanks for the encouragement. Wine and chocolate would be welcome as well. The best thing about next week: the 30th, Z day, is my birthday. I think I'll take a week off from writing as a present to myself.
ReplyDeleteWell, happy almost birthday!
DeleteI can provide steam, but I never share my chocolate.
:)
Sorry!
Keep going!

Sounds like a cute blog fest next month! Actually the "hard" letters were easy this year for some reason :)
ReplyDeletebetty
Well, that's nice to hear!
DeleteI like easy!
TY
HMG
I looked up words for those letters first. Talk about a challenge! Especially considering my theme is "Why people read romance." Can't wait to see the reactions for Z. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, we CAN do this!
Oh boy!
DeleteI can't wait to see what you write!
TY
HMG
This being my sixth Challenge, I've learned how to deal with those letters.
ReplyDeleteBlood, Boobs, and Carnage! Bring it on.
It's cause you have clones!
DeleteYou can't fool us!
TY
HMG
Blood, Boobs, and Carnage...that's hysterical! Even if I don't join in on the blogfest, I may just have to hop around to check out what everyone comes up with! Now Heather...I WILL NEED reminders :)
ReplyDeleteKatie @TheCyborgMom
I will do my best to faithfully remind everyone.

Sounds like fun. And we'll all be recovered by then.
ReplyDeleteThat's what we were hoping anyway.
DeleteKeep people motivated in May.

Y is the one letter that always causes me problems. There aren't a lot of strange words that start with Y.
ReplyDeleteThat is a tough one.
DeleteThere's always y'all. Completely made up and pretty strange.
:)

Qwerty? Well my spell check recognizes it. I use it all the time but had no idea about this word. Go figure. Thanks for sharing and stretching my vocabulary. Nice!
ReplyDeleteWe learn good here!
DeleteThanks for coming!
TY
HMG
Yep, we're coming down to the tricky letters. Hope the blogfest goes swimmingly.
ReplyDeleteThank you!

I found out about Qwerty when I was 17 and taking typing lessons! This is what we used in class to learn finger placement and where the letters were. "The Quick Brown Fox Jumped Over the Lazy Dog" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_quick_brown_fox_jumps_over_the_lazy_dog
ReplyDeleteSo glad my posts are done. I check them before I post, but they are done! Q was one of the hardest ones, but my brain pulled through for me! Lisa, co-host AtoZ 2015, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com
Trying to make me jealous?
DeleteWell, it worked!
I learned how to type like that, too!
TY
HMG
My Qwerty is almost non-existent. There's no S or D or E. Half of the O is missing and N's on its way to oblivion, too. Thanks for the boost.
ReplyDeleteThat's a well loved keyboard!

The perfect blogfest for me and my blog!!!!!!

TY

I didn't have too much trouble with these letters, but sheesh.
ReplyDeleteThey can be tricky...to some.
DeleteTY
HMG
OMG! OMG U, V, W, X, Y & Z! all these hared letters to do! aghhhhhh! LOL.
ReplyDeleteBut, we shall prevail!
DeleteNo letter will beat us!
TY
HMG
My letters have faded so it's not reading QWERTY anymore.
ReplyDeleteThat blogfest sounds great, but my brain is not functioning too well at the moment.
I think I'm already on auto-pilot...
That's a well used keyboard, though.
DeleteIt's a good thing.
:)
Plenty of time to sign-up later!

Most of the letters I already had in mind and my subject is Missouri so there were lots to choose from. I've had a lot of fun looking closer at the state I now call home. I will admit, I've had to stretch just a bit to find a subject to fit the letter.
ReplyDeleteTook me a while to figure out where the term querty came from, lol! One of cell phones I had mentioned a querty keyboard and I think querty? What the hell is a querty? :-D
Sia McKye Over Coffee
It's kind of more geek/nerd info than I usually like to share, but it worked for the letter.

Hi Heather - I haven't written them .. but know what I want to do .. I had J for Jynjy .. I think I've cracked it?! The rest are easy peasy .. with a few twists .. such is life - manipulation ..
ReplyDeleteCheers Hilary
You will get it done!
DeleteNo problems!
TY

Those remaining letters were definitely hard! Well, some. Okay. Yeah. They were. :-p I've got them ready to go, though! I've really been enjoying the challenge so far!
ReplyDeleteThat's what we want to hear. Getting posts done and having a good time!
DeleteTY
HMG
Yeah, I'm a little tired of the old QWERTY but we're SO CLOSE!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the blogfest idea. That's hilarious!!
We are close! Close to Z!
DeleteWe can make it!
Thank you!
TY
HMG
I already have my posts done to the end of the challenge. No problems.
ReplyDeleteI'd feel bad for myself if I wasn't so happy for you!
DeleteGreat job!
TY
HMG
I have half of them done. Still need to read a book beginning with "V" though
ReplyDeleteI can see how that could prove problematic. V is a toughie.
DeleteYou'll find one!
TY
HMG
Have all ready except "X" and "Z" ... surely will come up with something.. coz I do not want to miss even a single Alpabet..
ReplyDeletehttp://serendipityofdreams.blogspot.in/
Never!
DeleteWe will hit them all!
Good luck!
TY
HMG
I've done really well this year. I missed two days but posted why and made up for them. I've scheduled/posted up to U plus W. Z should be a quick read. V and Y are thick books unless I change my mind. Still thinking about X.
ReplyDeleteCrossing my fingers for you!
DeleteYou'll make it!
TY
HMG
I have the rest of my letters mapped out, which should be the hard part. But then when I sit down to write them, I still seem to struggle. I think my brain is tired. :)
