ReplyDeleteFrom the movie, "Midnight in Paris"
Wouldn't it be fantastic if we could embody these aims in our writing?
Anyway, that's my favorite writing quotation, hope you like it. Blessings from Geoff.

"...they're a whole bunch of people trying to be one person."
ReplyDeleteThe Fitzgerald quote hits the nail on the head.
Is "they're" second person singular in that sentence?
I haven't thought about writing quotes all that much to have a favorite at the moment, but after reading your list, I do like that one by Ray Bradbury as well as Sharon O'Brien's quote on writing and last but not least, the quote from E.K. Doctorow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for making me laugh. I needed that this morning.

For some reason I like the quote of E.L. Doctoro
ReplyDeleteI think this one is Ray Bradbury, but as I was checking that out, I ran into a big discussion about who actually said this. So I'm not choosing, just quoting someone...
ReplyDelete"Writing is easy, you just sit down at the typewriter and bleed."
We're almost there! Some tricky letters to go, but we can do it!

Hey Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteHow you doing? Yes, it's another highly anticipated, much loved, eagerly sought after comment from me, yes me, shy and humble me.
Can you believe it? I have been dubbed the official "anti-A to Z Blogging Challenge spokesman".
Of course I'm not really. And only three more letters to go. Excuse me while I sob uncontrollably in a darkened room.
Indeed, we can embrace the passion, the magic, the therapy that is the power of the written word. And within this sharing, caring blogging community, we truly rejoice the all different, all equal diversity, we hold so precious.
My favourite writing quotes are by that famous writer, Gary Philip Pennick, "A positive environment starts from within." And another one by that awesome dude, "Live life with realistic positive anticipation, rather than, negative speculation."
Wishing you Elizabeth and all those involved in the alphabet challenge, much happiness and positive interaction.
In kindness, shy and humble me....
That Fitzgerald quote is so true!
ReplyDeleteSome great quotes in there:)
ReplyDeleteYes, *snif, snif*
"I try to leave out the parts that people skip." <-- What excellent advice!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the E.L. Doctorow one :)
lol, I think I had a similar idea for W - except not so much. Maybe I am nearly hysterical or near histrionics because I have made it to W and need to pull my way through the final 3 letters. No quotes for me today, only quotas.
ReplyDeleteI have a different take on "stealing". I think you were just working smart to re post a GREAT post. It is just so appropriate for all of us writers and besides I was not here last year and did not read it. I bet a lot of us got to read it for the first time.
ReplyDeleteSo thanks for the post, and for working easy.
You quoted my fav quote! Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia. Love that!
ReplyDeleteGreat W post!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love - sharing!!!! =D
